Square Enix's HD-2D-themed games have been receiving a lot of praise and reviews from players. The games like Octopath Traveler or Triangle Strategy have really captured the attention of fans of retro games partly because of their distinctive art style.
In a new interview with 4Gamer (translated in the form of Nintendo Everything), Triangle Strategy producer Tomoya Asano spoke about the visual style, as well as the manner in which it's implemented in future games by the company. In response to the interviewer's concern that more indie games haven't been able to replicate the style, Asano revealed the reason being that it's pretty expensive!
